VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 11, 2008) - Canadian Gold Hunter Corp. (the "Company") (TSX:CGH) is pleased to provide the final assay results from the 2007 diamond drilling program on the GJ/Kinaskan copper-gold project in northern British Columbia.
The drilling program was completed on September 23rd and consisted of 80 holes totaling 15,834 metres. The final batch of results was held up in the lab for a considerable period of time. The Company reported assay results for the first 52 holes in news releases dated September 11th and December 5th, 2007. This release includes results from the final 28 holes. Please see the attached table and plan map for complete details.
On the Donnelly Zone, highlights include drill hole 07-197, which intersected 64.0 metres grading 0.49% copper and 1.06 g/t gold, drill hole 07-203, which intersected 72.5 metres grading 0.75% copper and 1.03 g/t gold and drill hole 07-212, which intersected 219.5 metres grading 0.47% copper and 0.49 g/t gold, including 64.0 metres grading 0.84% copper and 0.87 g/t gold.
"Once again we are encouraged by the tenor of the copper and gold assays from the near-surface, high-grade portion of the Donnelly Zone," stated Rick Bailes, President of the Company.
The focus of the 2007 drilling was porphyry-style, copper-gold mineralization associated with the Groat stock, a poorly exposed elongated stock of monzodiorite, which has intruded andesite and volcaniclastic sediments. Four mineralized zones have been discovered associated with the Groat stock: the Donnelly Zone, the North Donnelly Zone, the GJ Zone and the North Zone. The property is easily accessed, lying about 10 kilometres from the Stewart Cassiar highway.
The Company will complete a new resource calculation and an economic evaluation of the Donnelly Zone in 2008.
CGH is engaged in gold exploration focused on North American projects. The Company has a 100% interest in the GJ/Kinaskan project. The Company is currently drilling its Caballo Blanco gold project in Veracruz State, Mexico.
The 2007 drill program and sampling protocol are being supervised by qualified person David Mehner, P.Geo., Project Geologist for Canadian Gold Hunter. Appropriate quality control and quality assurance protocols are utilized on the program. Standard reference samples are inserted in each batch of assays. The Canadian Gold Hunter drill samples are analyzed for gold by fire assay and for copper and silver by "ICP" at ALS Chemex in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Drill core samples are prepared and analyzed by ALS Chemex in accordance with industry standards. Drill results and technical data are reviewed by Dr. Giles Peatfield, P.Eng., a Qualified Person pursuant to NI 43-101, prior to release. Dr. Peatfield is independent of the Company. True thicknesses are not accurately known at this time; in some cases they may be less than the core lengths reported.
ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD
Richard J. Bailes, President
